Memorial Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day and weekend. The weather was so beautiful! Saturday the kids had a primary activity...we all went to see the Chicago temple and met with the temple president. The temple is beautiful, I just love the feeling that is on the temple grounds. It is surrounded by a bunch of trees so it feels somewhat secluded. I forgot my camera...so no pictures. :( We stopped by the church bookstore (located a block away from the temple) so the kids could get a picture of Jesus Christ for their rooms. We wanted to get a really nice framed picture for the living room but they did not have one we liked. When we got home Adam took Anika and Celtin over to ride their bikes through the forest preserve while Lochlan and I stayed home to relax.

Sunday we went to a park with my sister in law, her hubby and sweet little girl. It was a really cool area with a lake, walking path, trees, and a neat playground. We had a yummy BBQ lunch provide by Carli and Ryan (thanks guys). We had a great time. The kids got to explore, play catch with Adam, feed the ginormous carp and run around. We will have to go back again so they can play on the playground.

Monday afternoon we went to caboose park for a ward BBQ. The park was so fun...the kids spent at least an hour on the merry go round. Adam and some other dads were spinning them so fast. I was getting nauseous just watching them. Adam jumped on and went around a few times until he had to drop off. The picture is just after he got off...he is not really throwing up but I think he felt like he might! I didn't get any other good pictures because the kids would not sit still long enough. Adam played softball with the other adults and teens while I visited with some of the moms.
We came home and relaxed while the kids played outside with friends and water guns. It was a nice weekend and Adam and Anika did not want to go back to work and school. Only two weeks and we will be in Utah enjoying a long vacation! YEAH!

Sounds like a fun weekend. That picture of Lochlan in the hat is just adorable.
